[Listening] Post Stardom Depression - What You See Is What You Get
Still love these guys although I haven't checked out Jeffrey's other project Missionary Position.
[VIDEO] Finally, got to watch the Silversun Pickups MTV Unplugged Performance
You gotta love your DVR. Although it doesn't have the production quality of some larger bands it's still pretty cool to see your favorite band strip it down and still kill it.
Really, No Flickr iPhone App? That's Lame.
Sure, you can find a 3rd party application to upload your photos to Flickr, but as a new iPhone user I have been frusterated that a company as forward thinking as Flickr have no plans for an iPhone application. In fact here's a posting from a user group from a Flickr employee 7 months ago. In the meantime, I'll continue using Twitterfon Pro.

[I'm Flickr Staff]Just a quick note to say that while we're fully aware that it would be nice to have an official iPhone app, it's not as simple as just knocking one together on a Friday afternoon.
For instance:
[1] The current 3rd party apps (such as Mobile Fotos, Shozu, Pixelpipe, etc) do a perfectly good job. It's hard to justify spending our limited time and money to produce a similar product just so it can have our name on it.
[2] We're only a small team of very busy web people, none of whom know how to code iPhone apps.
[3] Expertise in building websites doesn't necessarily translate into expertise in building desktop or cellphone applications (see the many threads complaining about our desktop uploader for instance).
[4] Hiring a 3rd-party iPhone developer for this project would be much more complicated than you'd think. (Much more complicated.)
[5] Flickr's very unusual for such a large site in that we push out changes about 10 times a day, every day. Publishing a new version of an iPhone app can take a week or more (and then you have to hope people install the update). Those two models aren't really compatible.
[6] We have an enormous list of other higher-priority tasks, that would provide greater returns for more of our members.
[7] The new m.flickr.com was built so we wouldn't need to make a Flickr app for every new cellphone that comes out.
[8] Many other reasons...
Having said all that, about 70% of Flickr staff use iPhones, so we're certainly not against the idea of a Flickr iPhone app (especially an uploader); it's just not likely to be the next bit of "value" that we add to the site.
Not yet, anyway...

MTV's $5 Cover series continues to shoot in Seattle's Queen Anne; Who's gonna shine? I hope they all do!
Today I got a glimpse of a familiar band, The Moondoggies at Easy Street performing an instore session. Having seen them a number of times I thought I knew what to expect, but after hearing that it was going to be covered on MTV's network series "$5 Cover" I wasn't so sure. It's weird seeing one of your favorite local bands rehearse as much as they did for each take. I get it, it's really TV and you need so many shots to make it happen, but there is something cool and untouched by just watching a performance live without any reshoots. My hope is that all the bands mentioned in the Seattle $5 Cover series perform well; from my friends in Thee Emergency, The Lights, The Moondoggies, Champagne Champagne to the rest of the Seattle cast. Seattle's music scene has plenty of stars.
